The future of Midwest hoops was back on display tonight with session two of the GNBA with the Generation Next Invitational. While there were only four rounds of games tonight at Homestead High School, there was still plenty of action.

Bryce Austin – 2027 – PG – Gallo Basketball

The point guard has great ability on both ends of the floor. Not only is he very quick off the dribble but also has great moves with the ball. He was continuously getting into the paint to finish as well as distribute the ball. On the other end he also uses his quickness well to put good pressure on the ball coming up with multiple steals and forcing even more turnovers.

Jayce Cook – 2027 – G – 24Up

Cook is a marksman from the outside. He has great form on his jumpers, moves well without the ball looking for his shot, and does a nice job quickly getting into his shot. In his game tonight, Cook knocked down four threes in the first half alone. While he is at his best as a shooter, he can also handle the ball and make plays off the dribble.

Randy Flint – 2026 – G – Yanders Law

Just one of a few talented players on this 14U Yanders Law team. Flint excels with his playmaking ability off the dribble. With his quickness and moves, he gets by defenders with ease getting into the paint play after play. Not only did he score it often getting to the basket but also distributed it well seeing the floor. All in addition to being a tough on ball defender with his quickness and athleticism.

Darren Grandon – 2027 – F – Martin Brothers

Not only is Grandon a skilled and versatile forward, but he plays with a huge motor. All game, even when they were up double digits late, he was all over the floor just outworking everyone else to make winning plays for his team. While he can do so much, he was most effective scoring around the paint as well as grabbing boards in bunches.

Timothy West – 2026 – G – NESYB

West is one of a few very talented players from this 13U NESYB team. He was a big piece of their dominant victory to start the tournament tonight. West is a skilled scorer that can get it done in numerous ways; off the dribble, in the mid-post, even posting up. More than just a scorer, he is also a tough on ball defender.
